Thea Foundation Announces New Board Members

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Thea Foundation is happy to announce the addition of three new board of trustees members, Jennifer Herron, Bryant Phelan and Michele Shaw. They will each bring their own unique set of skills to the organization to promote arts education in Arkansas.

“As a small foundation, we depend heavily on the dedication of our board of directors. We are thrilled to add these new names to our team of champions for arts education in Arkansas,” stated Executive Director, Nick Leopoulos.

Herron, owner and President of Herron Horton Architects, based in Little Rock, has volunteered with Thea Foundation for years and led the remodeling of the organization’s headquarters in 2017. An Arkansas native known for his unique handcrafted luxury leather goods and former Art Department featured artist, Phelan, brings his creative energy to the organization. Marketing Manager for T-Mobile, Shaw has has been a vocal supporter and donor for the past few years.

“We are very excited to have Jennifer, Bryant and Michele on board at Thea. Each have had a hand in helping Thea grow to where we are today, and each represents the ideals of the organization and how transformative the arts are. I’m proud to have such community representatives lead Thea into our 20th year and beyond,”stated Board President, Trish Roberson.

Thea Foundation’s mission is to advocate the importance of the Arts in the development of our youth. Three programs are implemented statewide to support this mission—Thea Scholarships, Art Closet and Arts Reconstruction. As we celebrate our Since 2002, Thea Foundation has awarded 472 scholarships totaling over $2.6 million to Arkansas students and provided more than $1.6 million in art supplies and creative materials to underfunded schools through our Art Closet program. In addition, Arts Reconstruction is our focused effort to help teachers receive professional development and supplies to enable a better platform to advance in their own careers and schools.
