Arts Reconstruction

Reconstructing what it Means to Have an Extraordinary Arts Education

Thea Foundation’s Arts Reconstruction program is our focused effort to help teachers receive professional development and supplies to enable a better platform to enhance their curriculum and schools. Arts Reconstruction is designed to connect Arkansas high school visual arts teachers with graduate level classes concentrated on new and unique mediums and support their creative efforts in the classroom with vital capital investments like paper beaters, clay, and glass making tools.

In 2023, thanks to increased support from Windgate Foundation, The Creative Collective was born. This exhibit was hosted in the Thea Gallery in featuring the work of our Arts Reconstruction teachers and their students. The show highlighted how both teachers and their students responded to the innovative mediums introduced and the unique professional development experiences provided through Arts Reconstruction. A teacher’s renewed artistic energy from expanding their own creative toolkit provided a powerful influence on their students.

Help bring innovative mediums to Arkansas classrooms today!

Donors like you can make a major impact in the classroom through Arts Reconstruction. Together we are shaping the future of high school arts education. As the program grows, the benefits ripple across the school and even state as teachers come together to share new skills.
