Film Scholarship Rules and Regulations

By visiting this page, you acknowledge that this information has been available since February 1, 2026. Failure to read the information or register before the deadline is not the responsibility of Thea Foundation.

Thea Foundation makes every effort to notify students, parents, teachers, counselors, and the public about its scholarship competitions. Because this information is widely shared and available in advance, late registrations will not be accepted due to lack of awareness of the deadline.

How to Register

Students must register online using the official registration form for each scholarship category.

  • Registration must be completed through the specific portal created for each scholarship competition.

  • Thea Foundation staff cannot register students on their behalf.

Technical Issues

We understand that technical problems can sometimes occur due to equipment issues, user error, or other circumstances beyond the control of the student or the Foundation.

To help avoid these problems, registration opens several months in advance. Students are strongly encouraged to register early to allow time to resolve any technical issues before the deadline.

Eligibility

Only Arkansas high school seniors graduating in Spring 2027 are eligible to compete.

This includes students who are:

  • Enrolled in public schools

  • Enrolled in private schools

  • Homeschooled

For homeschooled students, eligibility requires that the student:

  • Lists 11th grade as their last completed grade on their Notice of Intent to Home School filed with the Arkansas Department of Education for the current school year.

Film Scholarship

Each year, students from across Arkansas submit original short films to Thea Foundation’s Film Scholarship Competition for the chance to earn a top scholarship prize of $10,000.

Entries are reviewed by a panel of filmmakers, educators, and industry professionals, who evaluate each film for storytelling, creativity, and technical execution.

All scholarship entries must be submitted by January 10, 2027.
