2012 Thea‘s Art Festival

Saturday, April 28th 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Artist Booths

Each artist will have a 10ʼ x 10ʼ tent. In case of inclement weather, sides will be provided. Artists may request a 10ʼ X 20ʼ tent for double the fee.

An exhibition space may be shared by two artists. Each artist must apply separately and be willing to take the space alone if only one is accepted.

All display materials, including signage, must be provided by the artist. Displays may not extend outside the actual tent frame.

Electricity will be provided in each tent space.

Theaʼs Art Festival will provide 24 hour security but cannot assume responsibility for damage, loss or theft.

Sales

All sales will be conducted by the individual artist. Exhibitors are responsible for collecting, reporting, and paying all sales tax collected. Forms are included in an information packet at check-in.

Application
Process

Please submit five (5) images of your work. The images should be representative of the quality of your current work. The quality of your images is very important.

Jury Process

The jury process is done anonymously (applicants are assigned a number) and is based entirely on the images on the artistʼs disk. Images are considered both in relation to other applicants in the same medium / category as well as in relation to all applicants to the art event. Decisions by the jury panel are final.

A list of qualified artists will be retained on an alternate list in case of cancellation.

Entry Fee

Exhibition Rental Fee:

10ʼ x 20ʼ $300
10ʼ x 20ʼ(shared) $150

Application must be accompanied by a $25 non-refundable fee

Festival Standards

Only original handmade work of the entrant will be considered: one-of-a-kinds, multiples, series or limited editions which must be signed and numbered by the artist. The artist must have conceived the design and executed the finished product. Artists must represent their own work and be present every day of the event.

Not accepted are: Commercially produced works

Commercially molded ceramics, sculpture or jewelry

Items made from kits, assembled from pre-manufactured components or inclusions from supply catalogues

Commercial bevel or stained glass inserts Commercially produced photographs

Prize Money

$5,000 in prize money will be awarded during the on-sight judging.

Please not that Judges will not award prize money within specific media categories. Rather, awards will be based upon the quality of the entire body of work displayed as determined by the panel of judges.
