Arkansas A+ Schools
Arkansas A+ Schools is a teaching philosophy rooted in the research and development in North Carolina (42 schools) and Oklahoma (70 schools) is touted as the nation’s most successful arts-based, whole-school reform model.
Earlier this year, the A+ program was recognized by the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities for reinforcing “the power of the arts to improve the lives and learning of students and teachers.” By integrating the arts into the instruction of every subject it enhances creativity and strengthens the mastery of core subjects.
Now it in place in a half dozen public schools in Arkansas, thanks, in part to help from leaders in the A+ program in Oklahoma.
The Thea Foundation is now partnering with Oklahoma A+ Schools, the leader in A+ professional development training in America. Statistics over the past nine years, in sixty-eight public, private and charter schools across Oklahoma proves that the A+ teaching process can successfully be replicated to create high performing schools, every time.
