Arkansas A+ Schools

The Thea Foundation’s Arkansas A+ Schools is a teaching philosophy rooted in the value of the arts in education and is modeled after the research-based A+ networks in North Carolina and Oklahoma.  The A+ Schools Program is touted as the nation’s most successful arts-based, whole-school reform model.

Earlier this year, the A+ Schools Program was recognized by the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities for reinforcing “the power of the arts to improve the lives and learning of students and teachers.” By integrating the arts into every subject, student learning is enhanced and mastery is strengthened in all disciplines.  See Reinvesting in Arts Education

Now, A+ is in place in half a dozen public schools in Arkansas, thanks in part to the help from leaders in the Oklahoma A+ Schools.  The Thea Foundation is partnering with the highly successful Oklahoma A+ Schools to bring training and development to new A+ Schools across Arkansas.  Oklahoma A+ statistics, over the past nine years in sixty-eight public, private, and charter schools across Oklahoma, prove that the A+ teaching process can successfully be replicated to create high quality, high performing schools.
