2012 Creative Writing Scholarship Winners
The Thea Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of its second annual Creative Writing Scholarship Competition for high school seniors, which were finalized by a panel of qualified judges at the Thea Center on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Participants from all over the state submitted short stories with a maximum of one-thousand words based on Thea Kay Leopoulos’s acrylic finger painting titled Milosevic (2001).
The Thea Foundation is honored with the opportunity to award students talented in the writing field. Thea recognizes the hard work each participant put into his or her short story. The winners of Thea’s 2012 Creative Writing Competition will be asked to recite their short stories at the Thea Center on Saturday, April 14, during the Arkansas Literary Festival. First Place – $3,000 Carl Napolitano Little Rock Central High School
Second Place – $2,000 Westan Lakey Lake Hamilton High School
Honorable Mention Tristan Bethea Parkview Magnet High School
Honorable Mention Jacey Flatte Conway High School
Honorable Mention Melissa Foster Conway High School
